Why Is Moisturizing So Important?
When I was younger I always had problems with acne because my skin was so oily. I would use cleansers and they would work temporarily, but my skin would become oily again. This was a problem I struggled with for years. But as I got older my problem quickly became the opposite of my previous struggles.
My skin began to dry and I started to notice fine line on my face. Now instead of it being too oily, it was too dry. That's when I started doing research to find out what I could do to stop more fine lines from coming as well as minimize the ones that were already forming on my face. The more research I did, the more I learned that the answer to my problem was moisturizing.
I have always looked younger than my age, even into my 30's and early 40's. But of course the tell tale signs of aging eventually started to rear it's ugly head. I started to notice the fine lines on my forehead and developing age spots on my face. My researched showed that age spots on your face, are the result of exposure to the sun.
When you do use a moisturizer, make sure your day cream includes a SPF. The SPF will protect your skin from any damage that may occur due to sun exposure. The earlier you start, the better the chance you have of avoiding the age spots on your face. If you start after you get the age spot, then their are treatments that can help you remove or diminish their appearance.
Another reason you should moisturize, is because you skin does not produce as much oil as it did in the past. When you wash it with hot water or use a cleanser, this drys out the skin. You need to apply a moisturizer to hydrate your skin and prevent cracking as well as wrinkles. If you already have wrinkles, then they will actually get worst if you allow your skin to dry out.
Cracked skin can also allow bacteria to seep into the skin causing other problems. The moisturizer will act as a barrier to stop harmful things from the environment as well as keeping in the moisture that already in your skin. Of course keeping your body hydrated will also play a large part in having healthy skin. If you want to look younger longer, then you will need to moisturize your skin as well as stay hydrated.
